Health and Fitness Accomplishment you are Proud of since becoming a mom or when you were a mom-to-be: My favorite fitness accomplishment is when I started Muay Thai and BJJ over 5 yrs ago. I loved training so much I took an average of 10 classes a week (that is 10 hours worth!!) and lost 20 lbs and gained some nice muscle definition without it even seeming like an effort because I was having so much fun.
Advice for other moms or moms-to-be: Hmmm, I guess if I were to offer up advice to other moms or moms-to-be it would have to be to find something you enjoy doing and turn that into your fitness routine. If you love the beach don’t just sit there…take some time out and go walk along the ocean. If you love photography go on a hike and photograph the nature around you. Getting in shape doesn’t always have to be in a gym walking on a treadmill. Another piece of advice is to make exercise fun for kids and you don’t have to tell them they are exercising just make it an adventure. Go treasure hunting along the beach or hiking. An example is I bought my son a remote control car that we take along with us when we go trail walking. He is having fun and doesn’t even realize he walked 2 miles!
