Your Preferred Form of Exercise: I love PIYO, reformer Pilates classes, weight training with the 21 day fix & dancing. I’m looking forward to starting CIZE when it launches in the next few days because I love to dance & am a former ballerina.
Health and Fitness Accomplishment you are Proud of since becoming a mom or when you were a mom-to-be: I’m proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone & trying new things! I knew that I would not be able to get to reformer classes or the gym with my 4 little girls. I decided to try Beachbody at home workouts & I was hooked! I can totally fit in 30 minutes a day around my kids, husband and busy life. I also began weight training which I love and would probably not have done at the gym since I didn’t really know what to do! I’m much stronger since having kids and more willing to try anything (except running haha). I love exercise because of the way it makes me feel and I’m a better, more patient & present mom when I take 30 minutes to sweat it out!
Advice for other moms or moms-to-be: Pregnancy matters! Do your best to stay active (if able) and eat clean. Fuel your body with the very best things for baby instead of just “eating for 2”. Ease yourself back into exercise when you are cleared by your doctor & when you feel ready. Start with core work & be gentle and patient with yourself! My last two girls were c sections and I never thought I would regain my core strength and tone. PIYO really has helped with that as has eating clean and grain free. We spend so much time as moms making sure our babies/kids are fed well, make sure you are taking your nutrition seriously too. Take one day a week to plan & prep your meals and you will have a lot more time and a lot less stress! I also think finding a group of other moms who are fitness minded is so important! As a Beachbody Coach I run monthly wellness groups on Facebook to connect with other moms who are making their health a priority through exercise. It’s so helpful to surround yourself with positive women who motivate each other & social media makes it a lot easier to do that. Find something that you LOVE to do & you will stick with it.
