Your Preferred Form of Exercise: Running is definitely number 1, but I love strength training too!
Health and Fitness Accomplishment you are Proud of since becoming a mom or when you were a mom-to-be: Even before being a mom I always loved working out. When I found out I was pregnant, the first thing I registered for was a running stroller! And with my son a double jogger. I ran my entire pregnancies, but developed a blood clot after my son was born and could not even walk without pain for over a month, let alone run. As soon as I could though, I never looked back. I signed up for a half marathon 6 months later, and since then have run 7. I hope to at least double that number by 2017.
Advice for other moms or moms-to-be: Being a mom doesn’t mean you no longer matter. Making time for yourself is okay and important. Some days I might only get 25 minutes at the gym, but there are ways to make that time effective and really makes a difference for me in the balance of my life. I’ve also found having a small collection of weights and other equipment at home can be helpful, and my kids love joining me for some workouts too! A double jogger is my an absolute must for me. I love bringing the kids to new parks and places we run and then I get the time with them too!
